Welcome to WWW Wednesday, a meme currently being hosted by Sam @ Taking On A World of Words. It’s a place for you to do a little update on what your reading plans are.
The Three W’s are:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
What are you currently reading?
1. Our Dark Duet by Victoria Schwab
YA Fantasy! I’m halfway through with this and, while the world-building is super cool and creepy, the characters and plot are just… kinda… meh? It’s been a fun read so far, but really nothing mind blowing.
2. Becoming by Michelle Obama
Memoir! Michelle Obama has referred to her husband as a unicorn twice and said her aspirations when she was a kid were to have a dog. Understatement of the year to say I’m really enjoying this 😀
What did you recently finish reading?
-
- Rule Breaker by Lily Morton: M/M Romance! Incredibly dramatic, but the banter is lovely and the writing is really engaging.
- Hazard by Devon Monk: Urban Fantasy! Amazing relationship dynamics and world-building! The main het romance totally threw me off, though 😛
- Wildcard by Marie Lu: YA Sci-Fi! Totally different from the previous novel, but still engaging and with great world-building. The romance is a no from me.
What do you think you’ll read next?
The Bird King by G. Willow Wilson
Historical Fantasy! Pretty curious about how this one will go 😀
Hassan has a secret–he can draw maps of places he’s never seen and bend the shape of reality. When representatives of the newly formed Spanish monarchy arrive to negotiate the sultan’s surrender, Fatima befriends one of the women, not realizing that she will see Hassan’s gift as sorcery and a threat to Christian Spanish rule. With their freedoms at stake, what will Fatima risk to save Hassan and escape the palace walls?
Ooh, I’m planning to read Wildcard next month, I just hope it lives up to my expectations!!

I randomly picked up an ARC of The Bird King from work mostly because of the pretty cover, haha! I’m also wondering if I will like it when I get to it 🙂
