Musing Mondays – Different Editions & Book Reviews

musingm

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme hosted by The Purple Booker, that asks you to choose a prompt to answer + reply to a random question.

Choose one of the following prompts to answer:

  • I’m currently reading…
  • Up next I think I’ll read…
  • I bought the following book(s) in the past week…
  • I’m super excited to tell you about (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I’m really upset by (book/author/bookish-news)…
  • I can’t wait to get a copy of…
  • I wish I could read ___, but…
  • I blogged about ____ this past week…

I bought the following book(s) in the past week…

So I’m actually in a book-buying ban, but I was super incredibly lucky to find the last two books in the Red Rising trilogy for sale. The thing is… I forgot to check if the editions matched. 😛

As you can obviously see pictured above, they did match at all! So this is another series added to my ‘Different Editions’ list. But at least this means I can finally finish reading it!

This week’s random question…

How do you review your books? Do you review them right away as soon as you finish reading them? Or do you let them wait a bit and do you ever fall behind?

I try to review all books as soon as I finish them. I write down notes as I read, jotting down things I liked and didn’t like about it. When it’s time to write my review, that helps me get my thoughts together.

Sometimes I do take a week to post my review, though. This happens a lot with ARCs, as I usually have a set date/deadline I need to post them. So I try to read them as soon as I can, and then schedule my review for the preferred posting date. 😀

Do you buy different editions of books in the same series? And how do you write your reviews?
Tell me in the comments!
